Day 1: Addis Ababa City Tour

Our representatives will be waiting for you at the airport. After checking in to your hotel, you will embark on a city tour of bustling Addis Ababa. Your visit includes:

  • The bustling Merkato, the largest open-air market in Africa.
  • The Ethnographic Museum.
  • The Holy Trinity Cathedral, one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world.

Afterwards, you will be dropped back at your hotel.

Day 2: Addis Ababa – Lalibela

You will fly to Lalibela in the morning. Upon arrival, you will transfer to your hotel (approximately 40 minutes). After lunch, continue with an afternoon tour of the rock-hewn churches.
Explore the “Eighth Wonder of the World” – the 12th-13th century rock-hewn churches, which are still active places of worship and host many major religious ceremonies. Marvel at the unique architectural features of each church carved from solid rock. Wander through the tunnels and stairways connecting the churches.

Day 3: Full Day in Lalibela

After breakfast, continue exploring the southeastern cluster of churches: Bet Gabriel-Rufael, Bet Merkorios, Bet Amanuel, and Bet Abba Libanos.

Finally, visit the famous Bet Giyorgis Church, dedicated to Saint George, Ethiopia’s patron saint.
Experience local life by visiting an Amhara village in the outskirts of Lalibela and witness the preparation of traditional food. End your day with a breathtaking sunset over the Lasta mountains.

Day 4: Lalibela - Addis Ababa

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before taking a midday flight back to Addis Ababa. Relax at your hotel for the remainder of the day.

Day 5: Addis – Jinka

Take the morning to Jinka, transfer to your hotel. After lunch , you will take walking tour at Jinka daily market and local Ari Village.

Overnight: Jinka Resort

Day 6: Jinka -Mursi-Turmi

Morning after breakfast(7:15am), we  will  drive to Mursi (70km) in order to visit  Mursi tribe who settled inside  the Mago National Park, they are renowned for the strange custom followed by their women who, on reaching maturity, have their lower lips slit and circular clay discs inserted. And this day you will be arrive the Village in the late morning, and then you will be spending the next 1hour  visiting the Mursi village and share some experiences with the local Mursi people.

Then after the Mursi visit, we will drive back to Jinka for lunch, after proceed further down Turmi.

Turmi is an area located at the southeastern part of Omo and where the Hammer people lives by. The Hamers are a fine looking people, both men and women take great pride in their appearance, shaving and coloring their hair, oiling their bodies and decorating themselves with beads and bracelets worn around arms and legs. And you will arrive Turmi around late afternoon.

Other Itineraries

Day 7: Turmi-Omorate- Hammer Market 

Early morning after breakfast, proceed  to  Omorate(a home of the Dassanech tribe),a tribe who setteled at the last border   nearby where Omo river inter to the Kenyan lake Turkana.

 Then after you arrive Omorate, you  will take the local wooden boat in order to cross the majestic Omo river and meet the Dassanech people at one of their local village.

 Then after the Dassanech visit, drive back to Turmi till a mid day. Then after lunch in Turmi continue drive to Dimeka in order to visit one the second largest weekly market of the area in which two interesting tribes( Hamer and Kara) will show up together with their goods. 

Please note that:
Most of the weekly markets we have in Omo Valley are not only a place to buy and sell, but they are more like a weekly social events, where the tribal people exchange news as well as offer and recieves invitations for whatever ceremony they have. So you will have amezing exprience at the market.

Further this day, if there is any ceremony like bull jumping, then that will be seen.

Day 8:Turmi-Kara-Nyangatom

Today, early Morning after breakfast we will drive from Turmi to Nyangatom(70km) in order to visit the Nyangatom/Bume tribe settled along the west bank of the Omo river at the border of the Ethiopian, Kenyan and South Sudan.

Just like most of the indigenous group in Omo Valley, the Nyangatom have their own identity. Both sexes wear melti colored necklace, and also body scarifications practice both by men as heroism for killing his enemy or wild animals, women for beautifying purpose.They also considered the first group to introduce AK47Klanchiko to Omo Valley.

Afterwards proceed driving to the Kara Village.

The Kara tribes are among smallest tribe in the area numbering only 4000 people.They settled on the west bank of the Omo river(which is a primary source of life in the area), and believed to be as a master of body painting  that they use for beutifiying purpose.

 So today you  will meet this authentic people at one their second bigest village called Kolcho and the most important place for entire Kara people. 

Afterwards, drive back to Turmi.

Day 9: Hammer Village.

Early drive to one of the remotest Hammer Village set in the highland with stunning landscape over the Buska mountains. Today we have a full day photography session with the Hammer people,Interact with amazing hospitable and the oldest settlers families I have known for long time.Witness the pride the Hammer people take in their appearance, decorated with beads and intricate hairstyles.
Afterwards you will drive back to Turmi in the afternoon.

Day 10: Turmi-Arbore-Jinka

Early in the morning, you will start your day driving to Jinka . But along the way,stop at another astonishing Arbore tribal village located at the northern edge of Mount Buska.

The Arbore women are absolutely stunning, with extremely dark skin and strong features. Prior to marriage the women have their heads shaved. They wear dark robes, colorful beads and their huts are constructed of tree branches and reeds.

So, you will spending the next few hours photographing these beautiful people at their village. Then after this visit, you will proceed Jinka.
Afterward , dending your free time for Shopping and evening head to the farewell Evening cultural dinner party in one of the Traditional Ethiopian restaurant with dances from the different ethnic Groups then transfer to airports for your departure.
